not sure how long ago this fellowship has already been posted, but it is still up on the CBE website, so I assume that the position is still available.  Might be worth checking with the organization before submitting anything so as not to waste one's time.

CBE seeks applicants for a Legal Fellow in its Los Angeles office. The position is full-time for
one year.

CBE is an environmental health and justice organization that combines grassroots organizing,
legal advocacy, and science-based research to achieve its goals. CBE’s mission is to build power
in communities of color and low-income communities to achieve environmental health and
justice by reducing pollution and building healthy and sustainable communities. Most of our
legal work focuses on energy (both transition to alternative energy and phasing out fossil fuel
dependence) and improving communities in California’s urban communities through more
effective and sustainable land use and air pollution regulation.

Legal Fellow
Essential Responsibilities:
 Prosecute environmental lawsuits in state and federal courts on behalf of CBE;
 Represent CBE at hearings in courts and before various administrative agencies responsible
for enforcing federal, state and local environmental and energy laws;
Engage in public education and outreach to promote CBE and CBE’s legal work;
 Attend and provide support at community meetings with CBE staff and members;
Work with CBE interns.

Minimum Qualifications:
 0-3 years relevant legal experience, including litigation experience;
 California Bar Membership, or anticipated;
 Working knowledge of California and federal environmental law;
 Demonstrated commitment to environmental justice;
 Excellent legal writing and public speaking skills;
 Spanish language skills preferred;
 Willingness to travel in California and work frequent evenings and some weekends.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in public interest work, the environmental
movement, civil rights, community organizing, scientific training, and/or personal history with
communities highly impacted by pollution.

Salary: Commensurate with other California legal non-profits.
